A directory of autonomous, non-hierarchical groups, centres, bookshops and other organisations


After a period of neglect, as of May 2005 the on-line version of The Agitator is being revised and restructured. We are removing groups that we can no longer contact. We shall also be drastically pruning the international section, which we found impossible to maintain with any degree of reliability and accuracy; from now on this will only list the small number of groups abroad with which we have had recent contact and UK/Irish groups campaigning on international issues. This online version will be the definitive edition: after the second edition of May 2000 there will be no further printed editions.

Latest update (29 Sept 2005) welcomes Surrey Anarchist Group, Circulation 01 and Squall Magazine Online.

The Agitator currently lists almost 250 autonomous organisations: local and national groups, networks, alliances and centres in the UK and Ireland (previous update Nov 2004). You can find details of one that fits you by following one of three routes:

  • Categories
    This lists various kinds of organisation (groups, networks, centres, etc.) alphabetically.
  • Issues
    This lists organisations according to specific issues (racism, housing, etc.) around which they campaign.
  • Areas
    This lists organisations according to the geographical areas where they are based or to which their activities relate.

Feedback
The Agitator relies upon information received. Please use this form to send us information about any organisation not included; to update details; or to put us right on any mistakes (particularly bad email or web addresses)...
